For twenty years Brad Boa has worked with retailers, mall developers and manufacturers to design, refine, manufacture and implement their retail presence. In 1985, he founded a company that designed and manufactured fastening components targeted to the display and exhibit industries. In 1990, a subsidiary was established to expand the company's capabilities for more turnkey retail projects. During those times Mr. Boa worked with companies such as Panasonic, Brookstone, Primeco, Southwestern Bell, Hickory Farms, Leather Loft and Hallmark Cards.
In conjunction with these projects, Mr. Boa also worked closely with major mall developers to meet their own design criteria for their prospective tenants. He has been successful at many levels, distilling the client's vision into a tangible asset as well as managing the logistical aspects of these projects. The ground he broke in the area of seasonal retailing set new industry standards.
In late 1996, Mr. Boa went online. It was readily apparent that the world of retailing was changing. The biggest gains were to be made through the use of technology, and the Internet would drive everything. In early 1997, he prepared the groundwork for the divestment of his business interests and the transition of his business focus. He would spend the rest of 1997 and most of 1998 investigating how technology and the internet would impact and benefit the retail industry.
